KNiKi and Mike Beale

Dynamic exciting, vibrant and refreshingly different, KNiKi and Mike Beale are coming from Perth, Australia to Roomfulla Blues this Thursday.

“We are a high-energy duo that have a great time performing. That is what we are here for. For us it is all about the atmosphere of the shows”, Beale said. “We have an acoustic style with a blues based genre, a little like Ash Grunwald. KNiKi has a Janis Joplin-like voice and I have a big black voice so it’s a unique sound”.

Live shows have seen KNiKi+ Mike Beale share the stage with the likes of legendary American bluesman Charlie Musselwhite, and grace many of the major Australian and International Music Festivals including:

The Phuket Blues and Rock Festival,
The Himalayan Blues Festival,
The Gympie Muster QLD,

A brilliant debut cd “Dead On” launched them into 2010 and saw them nominated as finalists in the Australian Blues Music Awards for Best new Talent “Holding hands with the Devil” and Best Female Vocalist “Love me like a man”. 2012 saw them add several of their songs to the upcoming Australian film Nowhere Else, Produced by L.A. director Danial Donai and release a subsequent film clip in conjunction with the film’s debut for the song “Holding Hands with the Devil”.

Tracking for the upcoming new CD started in Jan in Perth’s Loop studios, and was completed at Bignote productions QLD . Producing the new album were Adrian Stuckey (Split Enz, Neil Finn ), Rick Hollis and Jennifer Mathews. Whilst staying true to their musical roots was important, one of the main creative directions taken this time round was highlighting aspects of their intimate acoustic shows, and featuring bigger lusher soundscapes.
