The Fabulous Murray Brothers
Thursday, 4 July 2019 @ 8:30 pm - 11:00 pm
The Fabulous Murray Brothers are New Zealand’s most energetic and entertaining blues band. In 2018 their debut album – ‘Sing It Chap!’ – rose to number six on the NZ Album Charts and received excellent reviews on blues radio stations across the world. They have appeared at festivals including Bay of Island Blues (NZ), Portobello Blues (NZ), Las Condes International jazz festival (Chile) and Fiji Jazz and Blues (Fiji). They are currently the opening act for NRL-side NZ Warriors at Mt Smart Stadium where they perform their original and innovative blues-based songs with humour and virtuosity.
At Capital Blues at the Crossroads the FMBs will perform two sets of original songs penned by Warwick Murray and/or his brother Stafford. This includes songs that have proven popular on radio in NZ (RNZ, Most FM and More FM for example) such as ‘Chicago to Invercargill’, ‘Blind’ and ‘Blow This Smoke Away’. They will also be performing songs from their second album ‘Smile’ which is set for release on Vinyl Countdown Records / Emerald Hill Studios later in 2019. They will also play the whole top ten album ‘Sing It Chap!’ (available on all streaming platforms). It will be a diverse and entertaining show with moments of deep blues, astounding musicality, soulful songs and lots of good humour. The FMBs love the crowd and entertain people of all ages. Their art is serious, their performance is fun!
Don’t miss this original, entertaining and virtuoso performance. Just fabulous!
