The Fabulous Murray Brothers
Thursday, 13 April 2017 @ 8:30 pm - 11:00 pm
Originally from the West of England the Fabulous Murray Brothers have played gigs, concerts and festivals in places as diverse as Chile, the USA, Fiji, France, and most recently New Zealand. In various line-ups over the last 25 years they have shared the stage with many globally-recognised musicians and personalities including Buddy Whittington, Imelda May, Shakin’ Stevens, Trevor Burton, Nine Below Zero, Chris Farlow, Steve Gibbons and Tim Healy, to mention but a few.
With his recent arrival in New Zealand, Stafford Murray could finally get the band back on the road, joining his well-known (in Karori) musician brother Warwick together with Tom Tom Thomas and the Funky Chief formerly of Wellington’s Strange Brew and currently of the NZ album charts Top 20 act, The Strait Shooters. They will be performing a mixture of original and originally by somebody else tunes as part of their ‘No Fame and Misfortune Tour of New Zealand’ which kicked off at the Portobello Blues Festival 2017 to rave reviews. They will be debuting tracks from their next album on Refried Audio: ‘Not Together At Last’. Expect a night of electrifying British blues with guitar fireworks and harmonica acrobatics, together with soulful harmony vocals, exotic instruments, awful jokes and the funkiest rhythm section in town.
