SUMMARY:Steely DNA
DESCRIPTION:Steely DNA performs the wonderfully eclectic music of the American Blues\, Jazz\, R’nB\, Rock & Pop band Steely Dan. Formed in 2018 in closed sessions at a Television Studio\, this 9-piece band is made up of experienced musicians and singers from the Wellington region. \nHear all the best-known and also some lesser-known songs from the nine-album repertoire of musical geniuses Donald Fagen and Walter Becker\, who founded the band whilst studying at Bard College in Dutchess County New York in 1971. With lyrics often puzzling to the listener and with the true meaning of the song “uncoded” through repeated listening\, session musicians on these albums have included Jeff “Skunk” Baxter\, Denny Dias\, Jim Hodder\, David Palmer\, Royce Jones\, Bernard Purdie\, Peter Erskine\, Michael McDonald\, Dean Parks\, Rick Derringer and Jeff Porcaro. Fagen and Beckers’ intimidating attention to detail in recording their music is something many of their session musicians still talk about to this day. \nThis will be a night not to be missed\, not only for enthusiastic musicians\, but also for fastidious audiophiles of this legendary music. Featuring the legendary Brannigan Kaa on vocals and Andrea Sanders (The Beatgirls) backing vocals. \nTickets here.
