DESCRIPTION:Warwick Murray and the Kingmakers\n  \nWarwick Murray is one of the most entertaining\, versatile\, and well-travelled multi-instrumentalists and singer-songwriters in New Zealand. He has recorded and played in a range of genres in over 30 countries. He is skilful playing on many instruments includes guitar\, banjo\, mandolin\, bass\, ukulele\, drums\, and harmonica. \n  \nIn a parallel musical life is also a performer and writer of heartfelt blues\, rock and jazz. He has headlined in Europe\, Latin America\, New Zealand and the Pacific at festivals including La Serena international jazz festival and Viña del Mar jazz (Chile)\, Barrels Blues Festival (UK)\, and Queenstown Winterfest and Jazz festivals. \n  \nHis latest blues-rock release was ‘Smile’ with The Murray Brothers – on which he and his brother played all of the instruments with original songs recorded during the lockdown in New Zealand in 2020. The album reached number 12 in the NZ Top 20 albums chart in February 2021. \n  \nWarwick has also enjoyed New Zealand album chart success with the Strait Shooters (That’s All We Have Time For\, #20 2017)\, the Fabulous Murray Brothers (Sing It Chap! #6 2018) and Funky Jandal and the Murray Brothers (See you at the end boys! #12 2019). Their songs comment on life experiences with a distinctive Wellington flavour. \nWellington Heads have evolved their own sound through the influences of Kansas-style blue jazz\, the swinging rhythm n blues of Louis Jordan and Ray Charles\, Chicago blues and infused with Pacific/Hawaiian rhythms and Latino feels. \nSharp and energetic\, Wellington Heads entice people to the dance floor\, regularly delighting audiences at Wellington venues\, and playing festivals\, corporate and private functions. They are frequently invited to perform outside of Wellington\, and over recent years have played in Tauranga\, Manawatu\, Nelson and at Wellington Jazz and Blues Festivals. \nWellington Heads have recorded five albums\, their last ‘Southern Night Sky’ released in 2016.
