Mel Stevenson

They’re back!
Yes, Mel Stevenson is reforming for a one-off show at Capital Blues.
When Mel Stevenson played its last gig in Aug 2024, which was at Jack Hackett’s, it was expected to be the final show. But the stars have aligned as two original members have returned from overseas for brief visits.
Harry Lentell, the drummer, is back from Melbourne, and Louis Holland, the trombone player, is back from The Netherlands, both at the same time.
So, they obvious call was, “Let’s get the band back together.”
And they have, for a one-off gig for Capital Blues. We don’t think the retirements are going to be like Sinatra’s, so this is your one and only chance to see the fabulous, and growing talents of Mel Stevenson.
You might remember them busking on Cuba St as 16-year-olds. They have won best band and best instrumentalist prizes at competitions across the country. They have treated Capital Blues to some fabulous gigs.
These players will go on to make some serious waves in music around the world. Join us while you can still see them.
Nico Buhne – keyboards

Louis Holland – trombone
Miro Holland – trumpet
Theo Thompson – guitar

This is definitely a show not to be missed.
