One of the great pleasures of Wellington’s music scene is stumbling across exceptional talent when you least expect it. Earlier this year, a young group of musicians caught our attention while busking on Cuba Street. Their musicianship, energy and obvious enjoyment of playing together made an immediate impression.
A few months later, that chance encounter has become a Capital Blues debut performance.
For these emerging musicians, the journey has involved building a full-length set, refining their repertoire, and preparing for their first performance before a dedicated audience. It’s exactly the kind of opportunity Capital Blues seeks to create; giving young artists a platform to grow their confidence, develop their craft, and connect with new listeners.
