Capital Blues Inc has engaged __________________________________ to play at Jack Hackett's Irish Pub, Dixon Street, Wellington on ____/___________/_______.

Capital Blues Inc requires that this contract be agreed to and signed by at least one person acting on behalf of the performers.  Alternatively, an exchange of emails between the club’s booking agent and the band’s representative will be required in order for the gig to be confirmed. Should emails be the preferred means of communication, it should be noted that the terms of this contract will still apply to the performance.

Such agreement must be received no later than 28 days prior to the date of the gig.

The Agreement:
  1. Capital Blues Inc. will supply a PA and lighting system, including an engineer to operate the PA system and assist the band with setting up equipment prior to the gig.
  2. The band will arrive at the venue no later than 7.30pm in order to allow sufficient time for all equipment to be set up on stage, checked and a sound check to be carried out (if required) prior to the gig.
  3. The band will provide their own instruments, effects pedals, cables, drums, etc and any other equipment they may require to undertake the performance.
  4. It is expected that the band begins at 8:30 pm sharp as that is the time advertised.
  5. The band will play either 2 or 3 sets and each break between sets will be no more than 15 minutes in duration. The gig should last until 11.00pm approximately.
  6. Capital Blues Inc. will pay each performer the sum of $125, subject to a maximum of $625 per band (plus GST if appropriate GST invoice is provided) – unless prior agreement to a different amount has been approved by the club committee. The performer will provide their bank details in order to allow payment to be made by direct credit. Please refer to item 7 below.
  7. The performer(s) will provide suitable promotional material including band line-up and publicity photo(s) no later than 2 months prior to the date of the gig to allow the club to promote the gig on our website and any other platforms. This may include any links to band websites, YouTube videos, Facebook pages, etc.

Please note that, in the event such promotional material is not provided within the above timeframe, the payment to the act will be reduced to $100 per person (plus GST if applicable). In the event of a higher payment amount having been approved by the club committee, this amount will be reduced by $100. This is not to be seen as a penalty but reflects the fact that the club wishes to actively promote all gigs in the best way possible and requires the promotional material in order to do this in the most effective way.
  8. If available, the performers should supply 6, A3 sized posters to the club in order to promote the gig. These should be received no later than 21 days prior to the gig date.
  9. It is important that the band take instructions from the sound engineer, and/or the club’s representative for the night, on the appropriate volume levels for the performance. As we are committed to providing the best quality music to our club members and their guests, we appreciate your co-operation on this.
  10. The band agrees performers are to pack up their equipment as quickly as possible to allow the sound engineer to access the stage in order to dismantle the PA equipment.

  11. The club reserves the right to take photos and video of the performance for use on the club website and other media for the purpose of promoting the club’s activities.
