Double Bill – Richard T Bear then Ras Judah and Culture Embassy

Friday, 9 February 2024 @ 8:30 pm - 11:30 pm

Wellington blues bands

The first act in our double bill is Richard T Bear.

Richard T Bear (from L.A.), and is coming off an Aussie tour after playing keyboards with the blues maestro, Walter Trout.

He will be performing some of his favourite influences like JJ Cale, Eric Clapton, Joe Cocker, The Band, and more.

Richard will be backed by some of our top local musicians including Nick Granville.

This will be a blast of goodness.

Our next band, Ras Judah and Culture Embassy, always gets the whole room dancing with their brand of Afro-beat, reggae, roots, and groove music.

Ras Judah and Culture Embassy is a 10-piece Wellington-based band of varying cultural backgrounds, hence the name.

The band has been playing since 2013 and features musicians from around the globe, including Botswana, Cuba, Ghana, UK, Japan, and Kiwi-born Indian, Malaysian, and Greek backgrounds.

The cultural diversity of the band is reflected in the sound of their music. They play a foot-tapping fusion of upbeat Afro-Folk, Reggae, Jazz, Latin, Brit/Euro-Folk, and Kiwiana tunes.
