NZSM Big Band 1 and Guitar Ensemble
Do you ever wonder why there is so much good live music in Wellington? Well, a large part of that is because of the NZ School of Music, NZSM.
Every year there is another generation of graduates, many of whom stay in Wellington.
They have studied, practised, and performed for years, honing their skills and craft to become superb musicians. Many of the students develop their art playing in the NZSM Big Band. They get to experience playing in a big ensemble, and also to perform in public. These public performances are a key part of their study and learning.
The current cohort will be playing at Jack Hackett’s on Wed, 28th May. This is your chance to see and hear the next generation of fabulous young talent.
Opening the evening will be the NZSM Jazz Guitar Ensemble.
Again, we have heard many tremendous young guitar players in Wellington who have graduated from NZSM. Guitarists like Alex Boulton, Callum Allardice, Lockie Bennett, and many more.
Come and support these young players on their path. They would love your support, and you can see some of the future lifeblood of Wellington music.
