Jam nights are where new musicians can mix it with a great backing band and where the expected and the unexpected happen. The last Thursday of the month is always celebrated in grand
style by our renowned jam night gig. All musos welcome – and a
good crowd of appreciative blues fans is always a bonus!
Another welcome return to the Bristol for Wanganui’s favourite
blues brothers – Dusty & Fred Loveridge. With a new drummer in
the band, it may have a slightly different feel to it but it’ll
still be a blues-filled affair.
Phil McLaughlin’s love of the more jazz-funk infused blues
returns tonight. He’s introduced some new material into the set –
plus some horns to add even more variety to the mix!
Always looking to bring you as wide a range of music as possible,
our local amp guru, Pete Matich, and his new surf rock band join
us tonight. Also surfing the blues highway tonight is the Red Dog
Saloon Band – cos you can never get too much of a good thing!
This is the first jam night of the year but will also be the last
one (at least for a while) where we will see the club’s
youngest (but now legally entitled to drink alcohol!) member,
Jake Stokes, who’s heading up to Auckland to go to uni! Come
along and join the fun……
